In 2002 several individuals with a common interest in Anglo-Scandinavian cultures came together to form Vikings North America.  Vikings North America sought the guidance of the worlds largest and oldest dark age reenactment society, The Vikings U.K.  With over 30 years of living history and reenactment experience to draw upon, Vikings North America is growing quickly.

In 2005 Gladsheim was accepted as an official chapter of Vikings North America (Vikes NA for short).  Since then, the Gladsheim chapter has had members attend shows and training weekends across the country and even had two members travel to England in 2006 to attend the reenactment of the battle of Hastings on the historic site.  This was the largest Dark Age reenactment to date in the entire world.

Since its acceptance into the Vikes NA, Gladsheim as worked hard to be on the leading edge of this growing educational movement.  Several members of Gladsheim have gone on to be internationally recognized authorities in combat, village life, and historical authenticity.
